I choose this topic because I know that it is very important to be conscious of how we treat our environment. By choosing this topic I know that I would be able to properly inform and show that this is an issue that needs to be addressed to make the world a better place. I spent a total of 15 hours working on my fire project which including multiple breakdowns of frustration and confusion. It was difficult at times working on the the fire project because of my will and necessity to complete it, but then procrastination would take over my time that I would try to work on the project. My experiences with how to conduct research was to find multiple amounts of references to each category I would have to include in my paper. By organizing what I am looking for and trying to find the piece of evidence I would use for each component of my writing for my paper. I would to the most simplest of components I would have to do for my paper first so i would I then I would proceed with the components that need a bit more time with and that will require to look for more pieces of evidence in the writing of my paper. I managed my time by trying to maintain my time during school at any time that I needed to do it in. I also would extra work within the weekend and at friends house if I had the time. I would know what i needed to have done for a certain time so I would just try to complete it at the time I sat out to achieve that week. Sometimes I wouldn't be on task or on track by a certain time but I would work my best to try and ask for help if that was an issue, which was usually the case for me. The goals I had for my project were pretty much rushed during the end of my project because I didn't focus hard enough throughout the time and got behind on a lot of things. It was a big stretch to include the APA citations i all the work I had to do for each piece of evidence. I challenged myself through my project by understanding new ways to explain a sensitive issue but also how to properly state this in my writing throughout the course of my project. It was challenging because it began to seem a bit repetitive when I would continue to write about the same thing throughout my writing of my project. I had to overcome the fear that this is not my best work due to my tardiness throughout the course of the deadlines of some components of my project. I would the audience to know that it is very difficult to continuously write on a topic that is a real issue, but the amount of time you put toward the way you perceive the issue to get your point across but also through how you keep someone intrigued in that topic but also for yourself. I would give myself a C or D. I would give myself this grade because of how I spend the majority of my time and how I gave up on myself multiple times because of my lack of understanding to’ why we had to do this project’, but also to ‘why i am even here doing this stuff’. I feel like I've mastered the basis of how to use APA citations but I need to further do my expand my horizons through my writing techniques. I am most proud of how it all can come together as a whole and seem as too much of broad and clumped together writing in my project. My difficulty was including the APA citations in my writing because it was a different format of including evidence. I had worked with APA citations before but not extensively like I had to with this project. I solved it by asking questions from teachers but also through like my fellow classmates because they would have better ways of explaining the APA citations to include easily but to make sure it looks correct as well. One thing that I would like to change in my approach of my project would be on how organized my time was to complete my project a lot faster and not be all rushed at the end of it. I wish I could change the way that I did not complete all my work like how I would have wanted to. I answered my central question with a lot of background on how to understand what i'm trying to get through to people in my project in the end of everything throughout my writing. The resource that helped my the most was Chapters that showed me a lot of stuff on the whole process of each thing that had to do with each in depth. Also Global Issues.org it also went into depth a lot on what was over consumption, consumerism and biodiversity. Some advice that I would give a student in any research project would be to find out what you need as a whole. What are you looking for and how much information do you need to inform a group of people that do not have a clue about it. And also ask a lot of questions, read through what you need to do and write little foot notes and how to get through your project and put in a lot of time into the work that you're going to present.
